FAQs

Why do I need to clean my solar panels?

Dust, sap, pollution, and bird droppings are common causes of dirt build-up on solar panels. This dirt blocks sunlight, reducing system performance and efficiency, leading to lower energy output and financial loss. Similar to how power from a full battery drains into a dead battery, energy from clean cells gets wasted in shaded areas, reducing generation.

What are the efficiency gains?

Cleaning your solar panels can significantly boost their efficiency. Based on customer feedback, we've seen efficiency improvements ranging from 10% to 40%, depending on how dirty the panels were before cleaning.

Doesn't rain wash my panels?

No, like a car, rain can remove some loose dirt, but for a proper clean, a more thorough scrub is required to get rid of grime.

Why do you use filtered water?

Studies show that tap water is almost always unsuitable for cleaning solar modules. The presence of minerals will, after drying, form limescale/stain deposits on your panel glass. This will decrease energy production or even damage the panel due to the creation of hotspots and corrosion.

How often should I wash my panels?

Optimal cleaning frequency depends on where you are located. We are seeing more and more than more frequent cleaning is very much worth the financial to see efficiency gains. Chat to our experts about an optimal frequency of cleans for your system.
